Got there just as the sun was starting to set but it turns out the park closes at 5:30. Sunset was allegedly at 5:34 today and generally the best light is about 20 minutes after sunset. 5:30 rolls around and the Park Keeper Guy starts shouting at everybody to leave. As I'm walking back to my flat I notice that at around 5:43 the sky has gone a glorious red colour.
I curse the Park Keeper.
On the upside I did manage to get a good shot out of the trip.
Although I need to buy a Graduated Neutral Filter I think so I don't massively overexpose the sky when doing landscapes.
Ah well you live and learn.

Aha I forgot about this: [link] If you are a UK citizen and you believe in your right to take photos in public places and want to defend it then you should sign this petition.

I almost never set out to photograph a landscape, nor do I think of my camera as a means of recording a mountain or an animal unless I absolutely need a 'record shot'. My first thought is always of light. -Galen Rowell
